NEW SERVICE NAPIER TO THE PACIFIC ISLANDS APRIL 2010
It is a pleasure to announce that Polynesian Shipping Line will be including the port of Napier as a direct port call with our multipurpose container vessel M.V. Ratstor commencing voyage 68. The vessels first call at Napier will be on the 16 May 2010.
In addition to calling at Lautoka and Suva in Fiji, Ratstor will provide a direct link to Pacific Island ports Apia, Pago Pago and Nuku’alofa.
Ratstor is a multipurpose container vessel capable of accommodating 516 TEU including 60 refrigerated containers. The vessel has two 40 tonne cranes mounted on the vessels port side and is capable of carrying a wide range of freight. In addition to general and refrigerated containers Ratstor carries project cargo, timber, vehicles and over dimensional cargo.
The inclusion of Napier in Polynesian Shipping Lines schedule is in response to requests from customers for a direct service from the port to their key Pacific markets. Customer support will be monitored to ensure the direct call remains viable.
MV Ratstor is meeting Polynesian Shipping Line schedule performance and has met all advertised dates since the vessel joined the schedule.
