NEW VESSEL FOR POLYNESIAN SHIPPING LINE
The Directors of Polynesian Shipping Line are pleased to advise our valued customers, suppliers and service providers that the Line has chartered the M.V Ratstor (IMO 9141704) to replace the Matua II. MV Ratstor will join the PSL schedule on the 20th March at Auckland and will immediately commence loading voyage 64 cargo. The M.V. Matua II will be returned to owners on completion of the current voyage (63).
M.V. Ratstor is described as a container vessel of some 516 TEU capacity (60 refrigerated slots) and 5450 TDW. The vessel was built in 1999 and has 2 x 40t SWL electric hydraulic cranes mounted on the vessels port side.
With the increased speed MV Ratstor will provide, a round voyage time of 18 days is expected. There will be no change to the current port rotation (Auckland, Lautoka, Suva, Apia, Pago Pago, Nukualofa and Tauranga), however with the recent changes to New Zealand Pacific Island shipping services, ports serviced by Polynesian Shipping and port rotation will be kept under review.
The chartering of the Ratstor (Polynesian Shipping Lines fourth vessel) reinforces the commitment made by the shareholders back in September 2005 to provide an independent, regular and reliable shipping service to Pacific Island communities.
