RATE RESTORATION - INTER ISLAND TRADE
Over the last eighteen months or so, customers will be aware that there has been a significant reduction in freight rates in certain sectors of the Pacific Island trades. Whilst rates have reduced, operational costs have not.
The reduction in revenue has been of concern to Polynesian Shipping Line for some time now as it impacts on our ability to provide a regular and reliable service. This reduction has required us to review the base ocean freight rate that we charge on our inter island service from Fiji to Apia, Pago Pago and Nukualofa, an adjustment to our base rate is now necessary.
Polynesian Shipping Line wish to advise clients in our Fiji to Apia, Pago Pago and Nukualofa service that an increase in the base ocean freight rate is required and will be applied as follows.
Effective MV Ratstor Voyage 75, base ocean freight rates will increase as follows.
Break-bulk & FAK cargo US$ 15.00 per revenue tonne
20ft Containers US$ 200.00 per container
40ft Containers US$ 300.00 per container
20ft Refrigerated Containers US$ 250.00 per container
Polynesian Shipping Line values the support we receive from our customers and we trust that our decision to increase base ocean freight rates is understood.
We look forward to continuing to provide customers with a regular, reliable and independent inter island shipping service.
